African Development Bank VP Resigns
The African Development Bank has revealed that it’s vice president for
agriculture, human and social development, Jennifer Blanke, will step
down from her present position by next month.
Business News Report has it that Blanke will be resigning to join her
family in Switzerland, as opposed to the media speculations which say
that she is resigning in response to the controversy surrounding bank
President Akinwumi Adesina.
Adesina had been earlier accused of abuse in office, but an internal
investigation cleared him of improper conduct. Despite that, the
bank’s board said that it had authorized an independent review of the
report following pressure by the United States for a new probe.
