The Presidential Task Force on COVID–19 in Nigeria has given the green light to hotels to reopen, but their line of action must be based on NCDC guidelines . However bars, gyms, cinemas, nightclubs, parks are to remain closed until further evaluation.

These decisions were  announced by The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, this Monday during the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 daily briefing.

The  Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Nigeria also announced plans to resume domestic commercial flight operations on June 21. Flight  resumption is  part of measures to ease the lockdown put in place to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

On resumption of schools ,  the government has maintained that schools would remain closed, until there are safe indicators for schools to re-open across the country.   Boss Mustapha who is also the  Chairman, Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, disclosed on Monday in Abuja at the 38th joint national briefing of the task force that the  PTF had advised President Buhari against reopening of schools.

He said the PTF was working to ensure that the Federal Ministry of Education develop guidelines and protocols for eventual  safe reopening of schools.  He hinted that those taking external  examinations and final year students could be the first group to resume so that they can conclude  all examinations to create spaces for schools to effectively achieve social distancing within the school environment.

Mr Mustapha also warned that the nation is yet to reach the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic infection thus the citizens should brace up for more cases.
