Olatunbosun Tijani better known as ‘Bosun Tijani, is the founder of Co-Creation Hub popularly known as CcHub, where all young African talents with passion for science and technology can put their ideas into motion to solve existing problems across the continent by inventing sustainable and innovative solutions.

‘Bosun, the Nigerian-British entrepreneur and the CEO of the pan-African sci-tech platform, moves around with the eyes of an eagle leading social and technological projects including Lagos Innovation Hotspots and i-HQ.

‘Bosun is one of the most influential techpreneur from Africa. With his unwavering focus in repositioning today’s economy and the future of Africa, he is one the factors that influenced Mark Zuckerberg‘s first time visit to Sub-Saharan Africa in 2016.

Over four years now, that relationship may have sparked the global tech giant, Facebook, in its decision to establish a second office in Africa. This time in Lagos, Nigeria—Africa’s largest internet market, in the second half of 2021. Due to the growing population in Africa, notable predictions point that Nigeria may become the second most populous country in the world, ahead of China by 2100.

‘Bosun Tijani Before CcHub

‘Bosun holds a diploma in Computer Science and (B.Sc.) in Economics from the University of Jos, and MSc in Information systems and Management from the Warwick Business School. This is a perfect blend of what ‘Bosun is all about. He has worked with International Trade Centre. At International Trade Centre, ‘Bosun led the invention of a web-marketing and information services programme which was introduced to Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Tanzania with all deployments yielding positive results.

He also worked at Hewlett Packard (HP) initiating the HP Micro-enterprise Acceleration Programme learning centre in Nigeria which was later deployed to Egypt and Morocco through his support. At HP, ‘Bosun was also part of the management and deployment of the ODel learning centre at the Africa Virtual University in Kenya.

When he later moved to Pera Innovation Network, he operated as the European Innovation Manager leading and coordinating innovation agencies in Europe. He is currently a Postgraduate Researcher in Innovation Systems at the University of Leicester.

The Philosophy That Built CcHub

‘Bosun Tijani:

“Science and technology can leapfrog development across Africa…there are so many smart people on this continent, we just need to build a platform that will enable them to create.”

Laying The Bricks In Building A Foundation For The Next Gen

‘Bosun sees beyond CcHub, he recently opened STEM Cafe in Lagos where kids through Science and Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) can turn dreams into reality.

At STEM, kids learn unconventionally. They explore their minds to create and be innovative. Having fun is learning, as they play video games, challenge themselves in coding, and prototyping with 3D printers.

‘Bosun Tijani:

“I want to build a generation of people in Africa with strong belief in science, people that are comfortable in science that can apply science to change things,

“It’s a free space, we don’t judge…what we want to achieve here is to build creative confidence in kids.”

In iHub’s recent tweet, STEM Cafe is partnering with eLimu (Kenya) in creating a programme called the iClass, that would improve standards for both elementary and secondary schools in Africa.
