One of the countries in the Africa continent, Burundi, has placed a
ban on secular music in public spaces for a period of 7 days as the
country observes a 7-day mourning period in honour of her leader,
President Pierre Nkurunziza, who died as a result of cardiac arrest.

Okay Africa reports that the Burundian government made this
announcement to ensure last respect is paid to the diseased head of
state, who was an evangelical Christian, under the stipulated period.
However, in place of the ban, only gospel music are permitted in
public spaces such as bars, hair salons, restaurants, cars and even
the media amongst others.

Nkurunziza, having stayed in power for 15 years, left behind a
dishonourable legacy of suppressing political opponents, censorship,
and carrying out various human rights abuses. So much crime and the
prosecution of innocent children were the order of the day during his
reign.
