Covid-19 Vaccination Africa: Tunisia vaccinates people over 40

Tunisia’s population is about 12-million and by mid-October, the government plans to carry out the first jab, vaccinating half of the population.

Currently after receiving over 6-million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from Western and Arab countries, people over the age of 40 are now being vaccinated.

According to President Kais Saied, another round of 6-million doses are on the way.

The World Health Organization (WHO) encouraged the government to speed up inoculations.

“The epidemiological data are going in the right direction,” said Yves Souteyrand, WHO’s representative in Tunisia.
