FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2021: Nigeria's D'Tigress Lift Third Trophy In A Row

D’Tigress of Nigeria flexes power once again at the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2021 tournament hosted in Cameroon beating Mali to return the trophy home.

The team has now won the tournament three times in a row making them the second in line to pull out this magic after Senegal.

D’Tigress clawed Mali hard championing for the 11th-time leaving the scoresheet 70-59 in Yaounde. Adaora Elonu, the captain, and Victoria Macaulay were in front to make the game bloody for Mali. Macaulay scored 15 points, while Elonu did good with 12.

Although, this isn’t the first time for the D’Tigress to beat Mali in the finals — Nigeria won Mali in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
