Krispy Kreme Inc. Opens Its First Cairo Store to Boost Global Sales

If you’re in UAE or Kuwait, you must have had one of those Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnuts. The doughnut has grown wings to Egypt as the company opens its first store in Cairo.

“The work that we’re doing right now, we know it works across all continents,” said Mike Tattersfield, the President and CEO of Krispy Kreme Inc..

“When the North African opportunity came, it wasn’t that hard for us to think about the 100 million population and 20 million in Cairo,” Tattersfield added.

The doughnut-maker is doing well to expand into international markets via brick-and-mortar stores, retailers and on delivery apps.

It plans to raise 8 or more stores in Egypt in the next 12 months.
