Nigerian reality TV star and winner of the 5th season of Big Brother Naija, Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon, is set to air his own reality TV show in partnership with digital network, Showmax, titled “I Am Laycon”.

The new show, ‘I Am Laycon’, set to hit the airwaves this month, follows the main star, Laycon as he settles into his newfound fame and stardom as well as his music pursuit post-BBNaija.

Showmax has announced that I Am Laycon, being its first Nigerian original series, will premiere from February 11, 2021In addition to being available across Africa, the reality series will also be available to stream in more than 23 countries outside of the continent.

Showmax’s Public Relations Officer in Nigeria, Onna Okafor, who announced the launch of the show, further added that the show will be available in the UK, France, Italy, and other countries across Europe. The show is indeed set to be a global venture.

Showmax revealed that the show, “I Am Laycon” will feature brief appearances from fellow former Big Brother Naija Season 5 housemates, including Lilo Aderogba and Victoria Adeyele, a.k.a. Vee, with whom he is very close friends up till now.

The show is said to have a total of 10 episodes, with the first five episodes available on Showmax on the day of its launch (February 11th, 2021) and the next five episodes from Thursday, March 4, 2021.

Speaking about the show’s premiere, Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice Group Chief Executive Officer of General Entertainment and Connected Video, said:

Big Brother Naija has a huge diaspora audience who followed Laycon’s journey while he was in the house. With the launch of his own reality show, it is important to us to make this content available to fans in as many countries as possible.

We believe in the power of African stories and are leading the way in making sure that they can be enjoyed by the diaspora and a growing international audience who we believe, will love Laycon’s universal story.”

The star of the show, Laycon also commented on the new reality TV show, saying:

“Music, family and friendship are extremely important to me and I am excited that my fans around the world can join me as I explore these different sides of me on I Am Laycon.”
