NESG Values Three African Digital Startups At $1bn

The Nigerian Economic Summit Group known as NESG has valued three out of four digital startups to discover the assets amounted to over a billion dollars.

According to Mr Asue Ighodalo, the Chairman of NESG who announced this week during the 27th Nigerian Economic Summit, the startups were founded by young Nigerian entrepreneurs.

He added that they have been able to cleverly utilize digital opportunities to attract the attention of both local and foreign investors, towards Nigerian startups

“As I stand before you today, three out of Africa’s four startup unicorns, valued in excess of $1billion, were founded by young Nigerian entrepreneurs,” Ighodalo said.

“We celebrate the achievements of Interswitch, Flutterwave and Jumia. We can create and enable many more unicorns.

“I am convinced that our path to greatness lies within our people, but we must inspire and support ourselves to believe in our country and trust our leaders, who must, by their acts, earn our trust,” the Chairman strongly said.
