Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage are now in deep reflection after Nigeria’s secret security service, DSS and the police invited them for meetings recently in Lagos.
The two, according to saharareporters.com, were invited by the Department of State Serviced for questioning over alleged inciting utterances against the administration of President Muhamamdu Buhari.
With the sharp rise in sexual assault cases across Nigeria especially against women, Tiwa Savage started an online movement known as “WeAreTired” in protest of the situation.
Through the movement, the musician called on Buhari’s administration to take action to stem the tide of rape in the country.
This and probably her several other posts on social media calling on the government to live up to its responsibilities must have earned Tiwa Savage an invitation by the DSS.
Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage were invited to the DSS office in Lagos a weeks ago and warned to be careful with their posts on social media.
Within days, the two celebrities together with colleagues Yemi Alade and Waje were also summoned by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, and warned to steer clear of political comments in order not to incur the wrath of government.
Many observers have reported that Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage both appear to have toned down their social media posts in recent days following the meeting with the DSS and police in Lagos.
Apart from the two celebrities, It could be recalled that the DSS has also invited a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafia, over his comments in the media
