Rwanda’s Health Minister, Daniel Ngamije has revealed that Robots were used to protect doctors, who treat COVID-19 patients through minimising contact.
Ngamije revealed this on Thursday at a news conference in Moscow.
According to NAN, the minister said the robots were used to reduce contact of health personnel with patients. The robots helped to collect information, temperature and other information to treatment standards.
“So, basically we do not have a big issue of health personnel affected by COVID-19 so far,” Ngamije said.
World Health Organisation Regional Director for Africa, Matshidiso Moeti had revealed that around 35,000 health care workers were infected with COVID-19 in Africa, most of them (24,000) in South Africa.
It seems among African countries, Rwanda discovered very early, a strategic way to tackle this challenge to record a very minimal number of casualties in this area.
