As the celebration of Mama Africa day approaches, celebrities and bloggers in the fashion industry are gearing up for the best dressed traditional African wear on social media in solidarity of the longest preserved culture in history.
The 25th of June is set aside to celebrate the strength and tenacity of the African woman.
A promotional video which had been viewed by over six million social media users, contains quick
tutorials on how to tie the famous African inspired head tie, with participation of women from different nationalities.
The blessing of the most preserved culture in history known to man, will keep being celebrated and passed on from generation to generation. The rich content in the fashion culture, and historical fact is
more than enough, to impact and educate our youths.
The plan for the event will be strictly an online movement because of the unfortunate situation with the pandemic, the organizers have planned a more creative way of marking the day with the already
revealed hashtag #mamaafricaday. People are expected to wear something inspired by Africa dedicating it to a person(s) of their choice along with the hashtag, to join in the celebrations.
The Organizers of the event Runway Dubai, which is owned and run by super talented African designer, Mrs Modupe Omonze, have a high expectation of participation which is open to all nationalities.
