The African Voice: Chibundu Onuzo’s Sankofa Is Everywhere

Nigerian writer Chibundu Onuzo, the author of The Spider King’s Daughter, is shaking the world with her third novel titled Sankofa.

The “mistresspiece” narrates the experience of a British woman who returns to the West African country of her birth. The novel was published by Narrative Landscape Press (Nigeria), Virago Books (UK), and Catapult (US).

The book speaks directly to its readers making it a huge hit in the international publishing industry.

Haven’t you seen Sankofa on London and New York City billboards? It’s just everywhere now. A huge success not just for the African writer but the black continent as a whole as it amplifies its voice and excellence.
