The 15th edition of the Nigerian Headies Awards show was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
This is the first time one of the loudest and biggest award shows in Africa was hosted outside the continent.
The Headies is usually beyond just music. It is always a moment that captures Africa’s rich cultural heritage and it’s unique fashion and innovations. This year we saw a huge masquerade on stage in the United States dancing to the sound of Africa.
One of stunning performances of the night by the Bandana and Sungba singer, Asake, visually took the crowd down a memory lane as he performed his top 2022 hit songs in baggy jeans. Think of old schools and the hot hip-hop/rap days.
Will baggy denims become a thing again? Maybe Asake may be the reason why.
