Zuma undergoes unspecified surgery while trial awaits

According to the South African prison authorities, Jacob Zuma is still in the hospital after undergoing an unspecified surgery.

There’s also a possibility for more operation plans, the authorities added. This is all happening with no specific details about the ex president’s health challenges as the corruption trial awaits.

He was permitted to go for his annual medical check-up on August 6, prior to the trial.

Singabakho Nxumalo, the prison spokesman said on Sunday:

“Mr Zuma underwent a surgical procedure on Saturday, 14 August 2021, with other procedures scheduled for the coming days,”

It appears Zuma is avoiding the trial by all means possible. The high court postponed the trial to September 9 on the condition that he is fit to stand for trial.
